Will-o'-the-Wisp is combining real and virtual optical artefacts of human perception. The person entering the blackbox is a necessary part of the installation.This work is experienced differently by and within each visitor.

The bright light of the leds is glaring in the darkness and once it is off a shining circular mark remains on the retina - a so called afterimage, an optical illusion. Simillar pictures are additionally projected via videobeam inside the dark room.
Perceptual disturbance is produced by organic irritation and is combined with the virtual version of this characteristic.

Kombination von realen und virtuellen optischen Artefakten des menschlichen Sehprozesses.
Der in die Blackbox eintretende Besucher ist Bestandteil der Installation. Die Arbeit kann nur von jeder Person einzeln und für sich vollständig erfahren werden.
Das Licht der hellen LEDs blendet in der Dunkelheit und wenn sie erloschen sind, bleibt ein punktförmiger leuchtender Schein auf der Netzhaut zurück. Solche Bilder werden zusätzlich von einer Videoprojektion im Raum erzeugt. Reale erzeugte Wahrnehmungsstörungen werden durch virtuelle ergänzt.
